EMO's Environmental Ministries embraces a variety of environmental concerns and is concerned with how care for creation is woven into faith and the life of congregations and denominations. It provides a place for people of faith to consider how theology, public policy and practice connect around stewardship of the earth. The Environmental Ministries Committee oversees and directs EMO's work in this area. It is a committee of the EMO Board of Directors, chaired by an member of the board and includes representatives of EMO member denominations and at-large community members. The committee conducts studies of important issues, organizes theological and community dialogue, and brings issues to the attention of the EMO Board and the wider faith community in Oregon.
