Get Involved
Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) is a statewide association of Christian denominations and interfaith partners, working together to respond to the needs of Oregonians. Our mission is to bring together Oregon's diverse faith community in service to God and creation.

We invite you to look through these pages and see where you would like to get involved – there are many ways to become a part of our work.

Volunteer to help others in one of our Community Ministries, add your voice in our Calls to Action or Christians for Peace and Justice, engage your congregation or faith-based organization in Membership, or become a financial supporter.

Add your voice: EMO provides a strong moral witness on the ethical issues of our day. We bring the voices of people of faith to the policy making process through our advocacy work at the Oregon Legislature and to our senators and representativesat the national level.

Through letter writing campaigns, meetings with politicians, public marches and prayer services, EMO gathers together the ecumenical community to make their views known to the government.

Learn: EMO offers educational opportunities to our partners so we can delve deeply into the intersection between faith and science, faith and social issues, and faith and the complex moral questions that challenge us in our day. Through seminars, workshops and lectures we gain insight and clarity to help us live more faithfully as children of God.

Serve: EMO provides direct service to those in need in our community. Our HIV Day Center, Northeast Emergency Food Program, Second Home, Sponsors Organized to Assist Refugees,Russian Oregon Social Services, and Circles of Support & Accountability, as well as our main office, all need volunteers to help keep their vital operations running smoothly. Find out more about volunteering.

Give: Whether advocating for peace and justice; bringing faith traditions together for dialogue and understanding; working to be good stewards of the environment; or giving direct, personal and respectful help to our fellow citizens—our generous donors are essential to EMO’s work. Please give generously to our Annual Fund, to our endowment, or to your favorite program. Your gifts can be in memory or honor of a special person. Thank you!
