Below are some useful resources for investigating and acting on Health Care Reform.

Oregon Health Reform Advocacy Groups and Resources:

The Archimedes Movement is a grassroots organization that gathers the voices of ordinary Oregonians to form a vision for a better health care system. The Oregon Health Action Campaign (OHAC) is a 20-year-old organization whose mission is to empower the consumer voice in the development of health systems that give all people access to the care they need, when they need it, from providers of their choice at an affordable cost. OHAC works statewide and in local communities, with organizations and individuals, in coalition and collaboration, to increase the number of people receiving health services as well as improving access for the uninsured, low-income and vulnerable Oregonians. The OHAC Web site has links to a variety of resources, including information about hospital charity care policies and a health helpline. www.ohac.org/

The Oregon Health Fund Board was initiated by the Oregon Legislature during the 2007 Session. Its statewide study of the health care system resulted in recommendations that shaped the health reform efforts of the 2009 Legislative Session, most notably HB2009 and HB2116, which laid legislative foundations for reform and expanded coverage to low income children and adults. Their Web page celebrates this effort and provides documents and links that show the trajectory of health reform in Oregon. http://healthfundboard.oregon.gov/
